Privacy policy

Right now Summo Notes is a waitlist. If you join it, the only thing we ask for is your email address. This page explains what we do with it, who else can see it, and how to get it removed. In plain language, no surprises.
Who we are
Summo Notes is an independent publisher of study materials for accounting and finance certification candidates. You can reach us any time at hello@summonotes.com.au. This policy covers the website at summonotes.com.au.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and the date you joined. That is it. We do not ask for your name, your address, or any payment details, because the waitlist does not need them.
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs, such as the rough location and browser type of visitors, to keep the site running and secure. We do not use these to identify you.
Why we collect it
We use your email address to:
- tell you when Summo Notes opens,
- send you the free sample we promised when you joined, and
- send occasional study tips, if you stay subscribed.
We only do this because you chose to join. You can change your mind at any time.
Who else can see it
Your email address is stored by Kit, the email service we use to manage the list and send messages. They process the data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We also use a website host to run the site and pass your signup through to Kit.
We do not sell your email address, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. We share it only with the providers above, and only so the waitlist works.
Where your data is stored
Our providers may store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. By joining the waitlist you agree to your email address being handled this way. We pick providers that take security seriously and that are widely used for exactly this purpose.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If Summo Notes opens and you become a customer, any data tied to your account is covered by the policy in place at that time. If the waitlist is ever wound up, we delete the list.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe whenever you like, using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
- Ask us what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your details, and we will.
Just email hello@summonotes.com.au and we will sort it out.
Security
The site runs over a secure connection, and your email address is held inside reputable services built to protect it. No method of storing data online is ever completely risk free, but because we collect so little, there is very little to expose.
Children
Summo Notes is meant for working professionals studying for certifications. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, email us and we will remove them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will let subscribers know by email.
Complaints
If you are in Australia and you think we have mishandled your data, please tell us first so we can fix it. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
